Course Details:
This much acclaimed Certificate award course was first introduced in Ireland in 1997 and has undergone several re-writes since that date.
In the year 2005, over 50 people were profitably and continuously engaged in freelance editing work organised by the Association and this work was and continues to be sent to them for completion in their homes for assignment fees ranging from €150 to €350, depending on the extent of the work involved.
Specific topics covered in this course include:
- Introduction.
- Publishing Fundamentals.
- Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation.
- Proofreading Copyediting symbols.
- An alternative (no symbols) proofreading system.
- Final assignments - editing, proofreading, re-writing and summarising.
- Setting up as a freelancer.
Accreditation:
When you have completed this course you can take an optional final examination which you take from home just like the course itself. Further details will be sent to you during the course and before it is completed. Those successful will receive a Diploma from ITEC - Irish Training & educational Centre.
